Biketobeerfest

I volunteered at Biketobeerfest on Saturday. It was at Hopworks Brewery and put on by GoodSport. I caught some of Hillstomp before I had to clean up.

Portland to Coast

This morning to volunteered with the American Cancer Society fund raising for the Portland to Coast Walk.

It is the largest walk relay in the world. The American Cancer Society, beat their goals for donations! I worked with a retired couple, a college grad, and Tracie who was the American Cancer Society lead volunteer. She was there from 3 A.M. to 9 A.M. and then she went to Seaside for the rest of the finish party.

Ladd's Roses

This summer I'm volunteering at the Ladd's Addition Gardens. I've adopted a bed a roses and my job is to keep them in bloom, by deadheading, weeding, and pruning. Every Saturday they have a deadhead gathering which I try to make.

Portland Century

I volunteered at the Portland Century, a hundred mile bike ride through Portland. It was put on by GoodSport, who I've volunteered with before. I set up the rest stop at Kelly Elementary, and we served food to about 100-130 riders who were doing the 25 mile run. Danielle from GoodSport, and Susan another volunteer made up my crew. Then after volunteering I rode the 15 miles back the finish were there was a Salmon dinner and Widmer beer!

He was a "sweeper" volunteer, his job was to be the last rider so we could pack up and leave. He is eating pudding that we had to give to the riders but they didn't supply us with spoons!

This is the salmon dinner line, and a picture of me with me back turned. There are more pictures of Flickr.

Tour de Fat

The beginning on the bike ride.

The bike ride down Front Ave.

I volunteered at the karaoke booth. It was a port-o-potty turned into a karaoke booth, it was solar powered.

There was a neat trick bike show witch you could ride.

There were lots of costumes. I wore my patchworks pants and put some clown makeup so my face. There are more photos on Flickr.

The Tour de Fat stage, and music. I have a lot of respect for New Belgium for making this happen. We need local breweries to get more involved in bikes and fund raising.
